What is the first job you ever had?

I started babysitting at age 12 – how parents would trust a 12 year-old with their 3 boys under the age of 5 is beyond me but I continued to babysit throughout high school and college in addition to teaching group and private figure skating lessons.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to own a pet store and be a lifeguard – my parents will never let me live that one down. I also wanted to be a dentist until I learned how long they have to be in school!

What is your favorite hobby?

Photography. My favorite thing about photography is travelling to new places with my husband and our dog, Winslow, and sharing our photos with our families back home in the Midwest.

Favorite animal?

I’ve always been a dog lover! I don’t know what I’d do without my furbaby.

What is the best career advice you have?

Informational interviews have been the most impactful experiences I have had on my career! Be open to talking to a variety of different people in diverse fields of work. You never know what might spark your interest and informational interviewing is a low risk way to find out if you might like to learn more about a specific career.
